Hannah Matthews is a writer, abortion doula, and community care worker based in Portland, Maine. Her writing has appeared in, or is forthcoming from, The New York Times, ELLE, Esquire, Teen Vogue, TIME, Glamour, McSweeney’s, The Washington Post, Catapult, and other publications. She publishes a free monthly abortion love letter, Bringing Down the Flowers, and works in collaboration with Camila Ochoa Mendoza of the Abortion, with love podcast on a series of love letters that you can hear and/or read in the writers’ own words and voices here.
Hannah is represented by Jade Wong-Baxter of the Frances Goldin Literary Agency, and her book about abortion doula work and community abortion care, YOU OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE, is forthcoming from Atria Books in 2023.
